Approved for protection against dust and mists with or without oil. It has been designed for maximum particle filtration efficiency and work in areas where there is annoying levels of acid gases.
Application: Reduction of Lead, Cadmium, Arsenic and Pharmaceutical Industry.
The particle filter 2096, P100 from 3M ™, with the mitigation of nuisance levels of acid gases, provides respiratory protection against exposure to lead, asbestos, cadmium, arsenic and MDA. The filter is effective for media up to 50 times over the PEL with complete facial parts that have passed the quantitative fit tests. This filter protects against a wide range of contaminants from oily and non-oily particles. The filter also offers odor compensation at the level of discomfort for the gases that are under the PEL. The level of annoyance refers to the contents that do not exceed the OSHA PEL or other limits of government exposure. Do not use for respiratory protection against acid gases or in environments that represent a direct danger to life or health (IDLH). Inventory requirements and training requirements for safety equipment are reduced because this filter works for many different applications. This filter is used frequently in the following sectors: mining, primary metals. The filter works with a wide range of facial parts, including the series of complete and medium facial parts 6000, 7000 and FF-400. When used with the 3M ™ 502 adapter, the filter can also be used with the 5000 Series respirator or 3M ™ 6000 Series cartridge.
The filter is approved by the NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) for environments that contain certain particles with or without oil base. The color code "magenta" has been assigned to the filter in the NIOSH system. According to the NIOSH P series passed test criteria, the 2296 P100 filter offers at least 99.97% particulate filtering efficiency. Breathing dangerous particles can pose a health risk. NIOSH is a federal government regulatory agency that tested and approved the 3M ™ Particle Respirator 2096, which is designed to help reduce exposure to certain particles.
